Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine
Dr. Messinger was raised on a ranch in southwest Nebraska. She obtained her BS in Agricultural Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln followed by veterinary school at Kansas State University. With her farming and ranching background, she was intent on doing feedlot medicine and consulting but switched to small animal medicine in her fourth year.
Upon graduation, she was selected for an internship at Alameda East Veterinary Hospital in Denver, Colorado. She then went on to finish a residency in small animal veterinary internal medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and is a board certified internal medicine specialist.
Dr. Messinger practiced at VCA Alameda East Veterinary Hospital from 2005-2013 as a staff internist. Her favorite Internal Medicine interests include gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary disease, endocrine disease, and immune-mediated disease.
